I Want Whiter Teeth

I am exploring my options and was wondering if you could tell me my choices for getting whiter teeth. I know they can be bleached but I didn’t know if there is another way?

Christy,

Thank you for your question. Professional tooth whitening provides much longer-lasting and beautiful results when compared to over-the-counter products.

There are varying methods to get that dazzling, white smile. Take home whitening trays are a popular and affordable method. You come into the office and an impression of your teeth is taken so the bleaching trays can be fitted just for you. The dentist then sends you home with a powerful bleaching agent and instructions on the frequency for wearing the trays to get the results you are after.

Another quick and convenient teeth bleaching treatment is called Zoom whitening. This procedure is done in only one appointment and uses a special light to remove years of stains away. It is safe and an effective way to a whiter smile.

Or you may be interested in a total smile makeover with porcelain veneers. These very thin shells of porcelain are bonded directly over your existing teeth to give you the smile of your dreams. Cosmetic dentistry takes advanced training beyond dental school. So please make sure you don’t just go to your family dentist or even a dentist that says they do veneers. You need to make sure that the dentist is experienced and has the right credentials. This is mainly because a general dentist comes from a mindset of fixing things, whereas a cosmetic dentist has more of an artistic approach. They want you to absolutely love your new smile and place a major emphasis on the esthetics of your smile and how it looks.
